[As it got closer to Christmas, Juniper found herself sitting on the couch in the living room of the house she and many others shared; knitting sweaters and scarves and everything she could. Of course, she didn't say who any of them were for, and whenever they were done she'd instantly hide them.
Since it was quiet in the house and presumably nobody was around, Juniper felt she had plenty of time today to get the most out of her knitting. She was off in her own little world.]
[Athena had brought Juniper an early Christmas present. Maybe she was thinking that her best friend would have future use for it, but even if she refused to take it, it was going to be a done deal, anyway.
There's no stopping this train, especially when the all too energetic girl went to ring the doorbell, speaking up chipperly from the top of her lungs.]
Heeeey! Junie! I know you're in there! It's me, Thena!
[She flashes a victory sign, not even bothering to wait and instead just goes right in, smiling wide. Hey, she's a little excited, alright?]
Oh, yeah, I brought you an early Christmas present! I still have another one to give you on the actual day, but I thought you might like this one!
[Athena, please.]
Now, where was it... [She goes through her stuff before she finds a small blue box, inside it being mistletoe. Don't ask.] Aha! Here it is. It's for you, Junie. Now come on, open it! ¡Rapido!
Oh! You shouldn't have, Thena. Thank you. [She takes the box, and looks at it for a second before opening it. No need to be rude to her bestie.
Inside it she finds a mistletoe, and she thinks for a second, before a thought comes to her head. She looks up.] Th-Thena! This isn't for what I think it is, is it...?
[She kind of understands what Athena is meaning, though. She still remembered how Athena and Apollo conversed about which of the two were more popular back in school.]
It's fine... Christmas is about spending time with those you care about. It doesn't have to be about romance. And even if I did confess in front of a mirror... I'd just look silly.
[Because even if she did do all of that... her nerves would be shot when it comes to actually facing Apollo.]
[Astrid likes to keep her criminals a while before she shows up. For one thing it's easier to fit into her busy schedule, but mostly it makes them nervous and that's always delightful. This time it was almost two days before she could sneak away from Isaac's watchful eyes. That's fine. She'd instructed Chell to keep the turn the lights on and off every few hours and keep her away from clocks and windows, so if Astrid's lucky, she might even be able to convince the prisoner she'd been held for a week.
She unlocks the door and slips inside, giving her criminal an apologetic smile.]
You're the woman that Chell found, right? I'm sorry they've kept you waiting so long, but hopefully we can get this cleared up quickly now that I'm here.
[The young brunette puffed out her cheeks, her hair ringing due to the bells that tied up her twintails that covered her slightly cow-like ears. She was only sixteen, sixteen, and she honestly didn't like being brought in a place all alone and secluded.]
When my big brother gets here, ooh, you're gonna pay!
[Actually, her big brother was kind of useless, being the dork he was. But Melissa could attempt to be intimidating, right?]
[Astrid giggles. She can certainly admire the girl's spirit. In other circumstances she might have made a good ally. It's a shame, really.]
There's no need for that. We'll return you to your brother safe and sound, if everything goes well.
[She shuts the door and locks it behind her. Then she makes her way over to the long table in the center of the room, her long blonde curls bouncing with each step, and pulls out a wrought iron chair for Melissa.]
Oh? [Astrid quirks an eyebrow as her eyes dart over those nice clothes, but that's not a fight worth picking.] It's nothing like that. As a matter of fact, I don't want anything from you.
[She minces her way back to the other chair and takes a seat.]
My name's Astrid. I'm an investigative reporter for the Drinuin Post. The women and men you met upstairs are a group of-- well, I guess if I called them vigilantes I'd get a better story out of it. But they're a careful bunch so they like to be sure that they've got the right man before... [She trails off and taps her chin, searching for the right phrasing.] Before they finish their job. [She flashes Melissa a blinding smile.]
That's where I come in. I'm your neutral third party, and it's my job is to make sure I get the truth about what really happened. Does that all make sense so far?
C'MERE ATHENA.

Hello, Thena.

[Because boy, he's slow.]

I can't, Thena. I-If I wanted him to get the message now, I'd just tell him...
no subject
[Because knitting hearts should have given him all the details he needed, but. Apollo is not smart, apparently.]

[It's the only reason she's so shy about it when he's around.]
1/2
... I see.

[Sorry, she's just sad that she's getting none.]
But maybe you should try confessing in front of a mirror to help calm your nerves. I heard it works wonders!

[Melissa pouts before sitting firmly on the chair, folding her arms and legs over so she can sit more comfortably.]
So, what do you want from me, anyway? If you want money, just take it already. Just because I'm in a small band doesn't mean I have that much, really.
[Regardless of the brand name clothes she has on, too.]
