Current Characters: Haruhi Suzumiya, Yuno Gasai

C H A R A C T E R I N F O
Character Name: Homura Akemi
Series: Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Age/Gender: Female, 14.
Canon Point: Right after Madoka gives Homura her ribbons, but before Homura "awakens" in the newly recreated world.
History: Here should be enough, really.
Personality:

Homura Akemi is known by others as the stoic, cool transfer student. However, she was not always like this.

Before everything went completely wrong, Homura was a shy, taciturn girl who could not do anything right. She used to shuffle around nervously, not being able to even speak properly. In her introduction to the class in the first timeline, she couldn't even say, "Nice to meet you," properly. She didn't even know how to deal with the oncoming questions that her classmates were constantly asking her.

Then, she met Madoka. When Madoka asked Homura if she could call her by her first name, Homura tells her that she's never been called "Homura" before, and that she isn't worthy of it. She is then told that she has a great name, so that she should act cool to match it. In school, she is unable to do any of the school work and she even collapsed during warm ups. However, all these words just put her more into despair; she tells herself that she cannot do anything, and that she only causes trouble to others.

In the first timeline, she tells Madoka that they should run away and let the Walpurgis Night destroy everything and everyone. However, Madoka dies, and she realizes that she is the most important thing in the world to her, so she makes the contract.

In each timeline, Homura becomes less unsure of herself and more confident. However, once she figures out the truth about Kyubey, entropy, soul gems - everything, she knows that she has to warn everyone. Back then, she trusted Mami, Madoka, and her friends. All the Puella Magi.

Her determination towards saving Madoka, no matter what the cost was her only reason for living; her only reason for repeating the same month endlessly. Even so, she also knew that every time she created an alternate universe, she would only make things worse. But she already told herself that she would repeat it until she found a way to save her.

During the third loop, she had attempted to explain to everyone the truth of being a Puella Magi, but nobody believed her. Because of this, she already gave up on saving everyone. Homura only cares about Madoka, and she will do anything for her sake.

She also told herself that she wouldn't rely on anyone. In episode twelve, she no longer is alone, for she knows that not only Madoka is watching over her, but all the other Puella Magi are helping as well.

Even though Homura does act cold and pretends not to care about anyone, she does indeed care about people. She has warned Madoka several times to not make the contract with Kyubey, and in the first episode, she even asks Madoka, "Do you feel that your family in friends are important to you?" And when she got "Yes" as an answer, she decided to warn her that if she (Madoka) ever changed herself, she'd regret it.

All Homura ever wanted was for her only friend to stay alive. She never had friends before, and Madoka was the only person in her world who could open her up.

At the end of the series, Homura is less stoic and actually talks to people more kindly, and happily, though she is serious about certain topics, especially Puella Magi, alternate timelines, and demons. She cares about the world a lot, and the people in it. However when it gets down to it, she will be stoic when she needs to be.

Special Abilities:

Homura is a unique Puella Magi, or magical girl. As defined by Kyubey, she is an irregular, and most her abilities are unknown for the first half of the series. However, when the truth is found out, Homura's powers are revealed. With her shield, she has the ability to freeze time for several minutes, and with this ability, she is even faster than a waterdrop, as shown here. The sand in her shield allows her to stop time and if it runs out, the only thing she can do is to reset, something like what Rika Furude and Hanyuu can do in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. In her shield, she can store an unlimited amount of items, though weapons are what are usually stored inside her shield. It's basically limitless to what it can hold.

How did your character die? Law of the Cycle.
Other: N/A
Samples:

( reusing both samples from gargleblasted, so they're set in that setting. if you want me to answer the old q&a from when i retracted my app, i'd be welcome to! )

First Person:

I won't waste time. I require information about the current situation. I already filled out all the applications thoroughly; there is no need for any of you to reiterate what I have already learned from the aliens here.

Nonetheless, if someone aboard the Thor would like to expand on this information, it would be highly appreciated. Also, I would like to know several things - who is the captain of this ship, and what is the quickest way to restore the planet? [ She wants to do it hastily. . . especially since if she is not back home, it means that Madoka's wish is one-hundred percent pointless. ]

If anyone sees a white rodent promising miracles, do not accept a contract with it at all costs; especially if you wish to keep your humanity.

I apologize for the inconvenience. [ Oh, and one more thing - ] And if you hear of a young girl by the name of Kaname Madoka is here, inform me immediately.

Thank you.

Third Person:

"I won't depend on anyone anymore." They were words that were repeated multiple times in her head, but now - she knew that she could rely on others. She would have to in order to restore her planet. The planet which she and Madoka loved.

Was she right? Was all of this completely pointless and the only thing she could do was earn money until the job was done? Frowning, she stared at her soul gem, recalling the last words that her only friend, her best friend, the one who the world forgot, had told her. As her body rested on the bed that she shared with several other people from different worlds, she played around with the gem, her fingers tracing around it.

Remaining silent for the next few seconds, she willed herself to transform, and as she stared at her hand, which is where the soul gem was placed, realizing that the soul gem was not dimming at all whatsoever. Closing her eyes, she listened to the sound of her sandtimer flow, clicking as time stopped, even though there was no reason for her to do so.

Looking again at her soul gem, she noticed that it wasn't turning black at all. Why? She had been told by several people that things worked different around here. People who were dead were here, alive. Time worked differently.

Time.

It was a term that she had known so often. She had, after all, repeated the same month endlessly until Madoka made her wish.

But now - the world that Madoka wanted to protect, the reason why she had made that wish in the first place, everything was gone. What was the point, now? Kneeling on the bed's cushions, tears trailed her cheeks as she placed her hands against her face. How could she let this happen?

Wiping the tears from her face, she pressed her lips together, telling herself, "If Madoka can do this, so can I."
Did you read the rules and F.A.Q.?
